Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What time of year are the football camps organised by Tenerife Top Training usually held?

Our football camps are usually organised three times a year, coinciding with the main holiday periods:

  • Easter: the camp usually runs for one week.
  • Summer: the camp usually runs for three weeks, approximately from the last week of July through the first two weeks of August.
  • Christmas: the camp is usually held between 20 December and 2 January.

The exact dates may vary slightly each year depending on the calendar, the centre’s occupancy and other organisational factors. We therefore recommend checking the dates published for each edition of the camp.

Who can take part in the camp, who is it designed for, and are there any specific requirements?

**Who can take part in the camp, who is it designed for, and are there any specific requirements?**

The camp is designed for athletes who already have some experience in football and want to continue developing and improving their performance as players. There is no specific advanced level or technical requirement beyond the established age range. The most important thing is to be motivated to improve, keep learning, and develop the different skills involved in the game.

How are the groups divided?

Participants are divided into groups according to both their **age and technical ability**. This allows the coaching staff to adapt the training sessions and exercises to the level of each group, ensuring that every player can develop in an appropriate and challenging environment.

What is the coach-to-player ratio?

The camp operates with an approximate ratio of 1 coach for every 10 players, allowing for close supervision and high-quality coaching throughout the training sessions.

What if my child doesn't speak either Spanish or English?

If a participant does not speak either Spanish or English, taking part in the camp may be challenging, as it is important to understand the coaches’ instructions and the concepts covered during the training sessions, as well as to communicate with the group.

For this reason, we recommend having at least an intermediate level of Spanish or English. Participants with a basic level can still take part, although they may experience some difficulty understanding certain concepts or following some of the explanations during training.

What training methodology is used?

We use an integrated training methodology, adapting the exercises to the age and level of each group. The aim is to develop the player as a whole by working on technical, tactical, physical and social-emotional aspects.

In addition to improving individual and collective football skills, we also focus on decision-making, understanding of the game, teamwork and the overall development of each participant.

What kind of activities take place during the camp?

Football sessions are structured progressively. We usually begin with approximately 45 minutes of individual technical work, covering both attacking and defensive skills.

This is followed by technical and tactical group work, focusing on different situations, moments and phases of the game. To finish, players put what they have learned into practice through matches and conditioned games, where they can apply the concepts covered during the session in realistic game situations.

Will my child improve as a footballer?

The aim of the camp is to support the development of each footballer across all the areas that contribute to performance. For this reason, our training sessions combine technical, tactical, physical and social-emotional development.

This gives every participant the opportunity to improve their abilities and understanding of the game, always taking into account their age, level and individual starting point.

What facilities will participants use?

Different facilities are used throughout the camp depending on the activities scheduled for each day, including:

Football pitches
Swimming pool
Gym

The use of each facility will depend on the activities included in the camp programme.

Will participants receive individual feedback?

Participants enrolled in the 1, 2 or 3-week options, depending on the duration of each camp edition, will receive an individual evaluation report at the end of their participation. Participants attending for one day only will not receive an individual report, as a single training day does not provide enough information to carry out a complete individual assessment.

Are meals included?

No, meals are not included. Participants should bring their own breakfast or snack for the break, as well as a reusable water bottle. Water will be provided by the centre throughout the camp.

During the day, there will be a break of approximately 20–30 minutes for participants to rest, hydrate and have their snack.

What should participants bring to the camp?

We recommend that participants bring:

Football boots. There is no specific model required; players can use the boots they normally wear for training.
Suitable sportswear for football training.
A change of clothes.
A cap or hat.
Sunscreen.
A towel.
Breakfast or a snack for the break.
A swimming cap for pool activities.
Any usual training equipment specified in advance.

We also recommend clearly labelling all clothing and personal belongings with the participant’s name.

Is there any difference between the Summer, Christmas, Easter or other holiday camps?

The methodology and overall structure of the programme remain the same across the different editions of the camp. The main difference between the Summer Camp, Christmas Camp, Easter Camp and other holiday editions is the duration, as some camps take place over fewer days.

The content and sessions are adapted to the time available while maintaining the same focus on player development and football education.

Do all participants receive an individual report?

An individual report is provided to participants who attend for one, two or three weeks during the Summer Camp.

Players who take part for only one day do not receive a report, as a single day does not provide enough time or information to carry out a thorough individual assessment of their development and performance.
